Casi nadie enseña catching con un sistema. Se enseña "como me lo enseñaron a mí" y ya. El resultado es un nene que mata todos los días sin saber si está mejorando, y una familia que suelta chavos sin nada que enseñar cuando llega la hora de hablar con un reclutador.
Almost nobody teaches catching with a system. It gets taught "the way I was taught" and that's it. The result is a kid grinding every day with no idea if he's getting better, and a family spending money with nothing to show when it's time to talk to a recruiter.
Cada métrica se mide de una sola forma, tiene su categoría de referencia por edad y su umbral de ruido — pa' saber si el cambio fue de verdad o fue el cronómetro.
Every metric gets measured one way, with its reference category by age and its noise threshold — so you know whether the change was real or it was the stopwatch.
¿Por qué vale la pena tenerla? El brazo, junto con el pop time, es lo primero que un reclutador va a verificar, y es la métrica que pone el techo: te dice hasta dónde puedes llegar aunque mejores todo lo demás. Con ese número el nivel sale más fino y el progreso se ve mejor. Si no tienes radar, no pasa nada: la dejas en blanco y la evaluación sale igual con las otras — lo único es que el nivel se estima más por encima.
Why it's worth having. The arm, along with pop time, is the first thing a recruiter is going to check, and it's the metric that sets the ceiling: it tells you how far you can go even if everything else improves. With that number the level reads sharper and progress shows better. No gun, no problem: leave it blank and the evaluation still runs on the others — the level is just a rougher estimate.

Yes, but it runs on its own track. Hitting gets frame-by-frame video review: the angles MLB publishes in Statcast, time to contact and how the body moves. You can buy it on its own or alongside catching. What it does not measure is exit velocity — that needs a gun, and the report says so.
